From Samarkand to the Fann Mountains: A Day Trip to Haftkul

Day 1

• Start from Samarkand.
• Drive from Samarkand to the Jartepa border crossing. This takes about 45 minutes.
• Cross the Jartepa border-Border control and passport checks usually take around 1 hour.
• Drive to Panjakent-From the border, it’s about 25 minutes to reach Panjakent. You can take a short 15-minute break here if needed.
• Drive to the First Lake – Mizhgon.
• From Panjakent, drive around 1 hour to reach Lake Mizhgon, the first of the Seven Lakes. Stop here for about 15 minutes to enjoy the view and take photos.
• Lake Soya-Continue driving for about 5 minutes to reach Lake Soya, the second lake. Spend 15 minutes here.
• Lake Hushyor- Another 5-minute drive takes you to Lake Hushyor, the third lake. Stop here for 15 minutes.
• Lake Nofin-Drive around 10 minutes to Lake Nofin, the fourth lake. This one is larger, so plan to spend 20 minutes here.
• Lake Khurdak- A short 10-minute drive will take you to Lake Khurdak, the fifth lake. Spend 15 minutes here.
• .Lake Marguzor. Continue 15 minutes to reach Lake Marguzor, the sixth and one of the biggest and most beautiful lakes. Stop here for 30 minutes. You can also have lunch or a picnic here.
• .Lake Hazorchashma. The last lake is Lake Hazorchashma- reached by a 20-minute drive on a bumpy road. Spend 25 minutes here enjoying the mountain views and fresh air.
• Return trip. After visiting all seven lakes, start your journey back the same way. It takes around 3.5 to 4 hours to return to Samarkand, including the border crossing.
